About Us

We are an independent, self-managing Congregational Church founded in 1877. The building was completed in 1885 and was  paid for entirely by the members own efforts, donations and fundraising.

Congregationalism is a agreement between the members of a church to act together in harmony with the precepts of the gospel and dates back to the Puritan movement.

Our beliefs do not differ from other christian bodies except that we believe that Christ rules in his Church not through a Pope or through bishops or clergy, but through the local congregations.

Congregationalists hold the faith of the Holy Trinity and seek  to work in close co-operation with Christians of other denomimnations. It is only in the governing of Churches that our views differ.
